The National Symposium for Debate Flagship Session is the premier offering for NSD's Summer Institutes. We offer a rigorous curriculum centered on the systematic instruction in the theory and strategy of debate, lectures on topics of concern to academic fields such as political science, critical theory, and philosophy, and the development of speaking and rhetorical skills. Our curriculum embraces all skill levels – from those with no prior debate experience to veteran national circuit debaters. For a main camp session, NSD's Flagship has no match.

NSD Philadelphia is a Lincoln Douglas Debate camp that offers the NSD, national circuit education in a two week session in the heart of Pennsylvania. Formerly known as NSD Northeast, NSD Philadelphia hosts a staff to serve a countrywide audience and students at every level. Now in its second iteration, NSD Philadelphia received rave reviews in its first year, and we are excited to bring an even better staff and better camp experience for all. Lincoln Douglas from July 16-29 at UT San Antonio

NSD Texas is a two week intensive summer institute targeted towards the nuances of debating Lincoln-Douglas in the Texas region. We believe that the Texas circuit is one of the most competitive regions in the country, but moreover that debating and succeeding in Texas warrants a nuanced and specifically focused curriculum for the state; something that no other summer institute provides. Staffed by the best coaches and debaters in Texas, NSD Texas provides a comprehensive curriculum for success in the Lone Star state.
NSD Public Forum

NSD’s brand new Public Forum camp offers a rigorous, innovative, and personalized approach to debate curriculum, focused on building and refining fundamental skills to allow debaters to succeed year-round. Our curriculum embraces all skill levels and includes lectures on specific debate skills, workshop periods for refining technique, constructive lab periods for organized research and further practice, a mentorship program for individualized instruction, and plenty of practice debates. In everything we do, we strive to create a close-knit environment where our students can work closely with the faculty in small groups
NSD Middle School
Middle School Debate from July 16-29 at UT San Antonio

NSD Middle School Institute is the premier summer debate camp for middle school students. We offer a fun, rigorous curriculum centered on laying the foundations for success in high school and beyond. Our curriculum embraces all skill and experience levels—from those with no prior debate experience to the most hardcore middle school debater. Led by seasoned instructors who have proven success catalyzing and nurturing young talent, NSD Middle School adapts a proven formula to help each student each their goals, no matter what they may be. Using the LD Debate format, we teach skills that are transferable to all debate events and other academic endeavors.
Congress from July 16-20 at Bryn Mawr College

NSD’s Congressional Debate Institute offers each and every participant a challenging, comprehensive, and fun course in everything Congress – from argumentation, to rhetoric, to research. NSD’s instructors and curriculum blend interactive lectures on public policy, constitutional law, economics, and philosophy together with rhetorical drills, speech practices and mock Congressional sessions. Every “topic lecture” is discussion-based; every speaking opportunity is critiqued by instructors and by students in small breakout sessions, made possible by our 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio.
